Green Cellular 2013

International Workshop on End-to-End Green Cellular Networks in conjunction with PIMRC 2013, September 8-11, 2013, London, UK.

A desire for improved mobile services is increasing rapidly around the globe. Fast evolution of wireless communications has experienced uses of heterogeneous networks and smaller and smaller cells. In addition, telecommunications industry is growing fast in emerging markets where the reliability of electricity grids is becoming a critical problem for operators. As there will be many more telecom products in use with widely varying requirements and environments, both energy efficiency and environmental impact of telecom equipment need to be considered and optimized carefully together with new solutions such as the use of renewable energy. Optimised solutions are also required for cooling and power amplifier technologies that are critical components in terms of energy efficiency. Many topics from research, development and standardisation are welcome to the workshop enabling fruitful discussions and a great possibility for cross-disciplinary innovations and technologies.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
1- Energy efficiency and environmental impact of telecom equipment
2- Key performance indicators for energy efficiency in mobile networks
3- Energy monitoring tools for mobile networks
4- Energy efficient mobile network engineering and design
5- Physical layer energy and spectrum efficiency: analysis and algorithms
6- Energy efficient massive MIMO techniques
7- Heterogeneous networks for energy efficiency
8- SON for energy saving
9- Energy-efficiency of video delivery over mobile networks (DVB and 3GPP)
10- Usage of renewable energy in mobile networks
11- Energy efficient cooling
12- Energy efficient technologies for linear transmitters (e.g. power amplifier technologies and linearization)
13- Standardization work on energy efficiency improvement and measurements

Submissions are limited to 5 pages in IEEE conference format. Original accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings and will be available on IEEE Xplore. Submissions are handled through the EDAS system. Upon final camera-ready paper submission, authors will need to sign an IEEE copyright form for each accepted paper to comply with IEEE regulations.
